Are you an organisation who is involved with any of the following
•   Quarrying
•   Timer frame
•   Concrete
•   Brick and block
•   Windows and doors
•   Building products
•   Materials supply
•   Steel manufacture and fabrication
•   Shopfitting
If so and you are based in England you will be eligible for government funding support.
What is the support?
In conjunction with the National Skills Academy for Materials, Production and Supply, colleagues at 6ix are now able to offer heavily subsidised support to manufacturers, suppliers and installers of building products based in England. The sector skills council for your work has successfully lobbied Government and has secured £3.5 Million to help you in these difficult times.
The funding has been provided for training and up-skilling of the workforce but we can do more than simply providing you with another certificate. The Business Improvement Techniques NVQ is a qualification that will help you and your business to maximise efficiency, profits and revenues by the elimination of waste and provide improved work flow through your business. This qualification has been successfully applied to numerous companies, both large and small, producing cost savings and quality improvements as well as the formal qualification.
Benefits of the BIT
The Business Improvement Techniques is perhaps unique in its design. Initially bespoke training is provided in tools and techniques designed specifically to produce business benefits. This is followed by a mentoring period where these tools and techniques are applied on real projects by the candidates. A ‘learning by doing’ approach that provides tangible benefits during the training period and beyond. The projects will all be based on the proven concepts of lean and continuous improvement so, whether you are looking to expand your roll-out of lean or are just starting out, this is a superb opportunity to do so with funding support.
How does it work?
We will work with your staff in groups of between 8-15 people to identify and improve particular aspects of your business. The projects can be from any area and, as examples, we have worked with staff members from:
•   Administration
•   Sales and marketing
•   Design
•   Production
•   Inspection
•   Team leaders
•   Support services
•   Technical services
•   Installers
We will work with you over a period of between 6-9 months to provide the training and mentoring support to enable your staff to deliver real savings and improvements. We have a proven track record of delivery and some individuals that we have worked with have achieved confirmed savings of up to £300K.
Eligibility and availability
The BIT NVQ has been identified by the Government as a Key Qualification aimed at improving UK productivity
and as a result has secured continued funding despite the recent cut backs. The exact levels of funding vary dependant on organisation size and details and is only available to organisations based in England and who fall within the correct sector skills council. Please contact us to discuss your particular circumstances and allow us to calculate the amount of funding that you may be eligible for.
